This photo is of the NAF Crash Crew. It was taken in the mid “60’s” probably about 1965. Were you a member of the crash crew? I can remember them doing live crash drills on an old wrecked helicopter at the end of the runway.

NAF Naples Italy Special Services Building.
This is a photo of the NAF Special Services Building. It was located at the far end of the base just beyond the old barracks. As I recall there was a recreation hall, a handball court, a wood working shop and an automotive shop where the personnel from the base could work on their cars. In the building was the Special Service Office where my friend Brian Voge worked.

The Capo News & Views Distribution System.
This photo is from 1965 showing the Editor of the Capo News & Views, yours truly, David R. Wellette installing what was back then our “ high tech newspaper distribution system” otherwise known as ten plywood boxes hand crafted and provided by the NAF Public Works Department strategically placed around our base. Believe it or not,it worked. We got the news out to the crew.
NAF SICK BAY
The crew of Sick Bay having what I believe they called an “eat out back”. That day they had a watermelon. It looks like they were enjoying it. Did you work at the NAF Sick Bay? Photo from the early 1960’s.
